  • INTO Working Holidays launched

    Posted on November 24, 2017

In 2012 INTO launched its Working Holidays pilot in collaboration with several member organisations. Opportunities included constructing a shelter in a pristine Canadian forest run by The Land Conservancy of British Columbia, becoming a tour guide in the historic Liptovský Hrádok castle run by the National Trust of Slovakia, or renovating an ancient mill in the heart of the French countryside with Union Rempart.

Following the highly successful working holiday exchange between INTO members Union Rempart in France and the Ruan Yisan Heritage Foundation in China (which resulted from the two organisations meeting at the Dublin ICNT in 2009), and the INTO Working Holiday in China, we launched a scheme to promote the working holidays of other INTO member organisations with the help of the NTEWNI.

The programme brings volunteers from around the world together to work on practical, community based conservation projects and has grown to include the Czech Republic, Japan, Romania, Spain and St Helena!  Over the course of the last ten years, we have advertised 120 working holidays run by our member organisations!
