A heritage pilgrimage in Northern Spain

INTO personnel and volunteers were joined by a team from Tesouros de Galicia along the Camino Inglés in September. The aim of the 120km hike from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela was to build awareness of the value of heritage and to raise funds for INTO.

Members of the INTO Executive Committee, Secretariat and other volunteers joined personnel from INTO member organisation Tesouros de Galicia on a week-long pilgrimage from Ferrol in Northern Spain to Santiago di Compostela. Along the way, the INTO team gave advice on the exploitation of the route and met local politicians, heritage experts and opinion formers. They also raised over £7,000 in sponsorship.

INTO was honoured to receive the Battle of Coruna Gold Medal from the Royal Green Jackets Association during the walk.
