  • Celebrating 20 years of the National Trust of Slovakia

    Posted on November 9, 2016

The ‘Who owns the Monuments’ Conference organised as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the National Trust of Slovakia (NTS), brought together different perspectives on the responsibility of caring for heritage assets.

Delegates, including Catherine Leonard and representatives of INTO member organisations, saw people taking the future of cultural heritage into their own hands – quite literally – in an inspiring and proactive way.

It was also very moving to visit the Rómer House in Zámocnícka Street, which will become the NTS’s office and cultural hub in Bratislava. The late Rodney Davidson, a lifelong supporter of the global National Trust movement and INTO, gave seed money to the project back in 2012 and would have been thrilled to see the progress made.

You can read more about the celebrations in Catherine’s blog.
