Dear INTO Members
The National Trust, after winning the prestigious Ashden Gold Award in 2012 have developed the Fit for Future Network. Based on the National Trust’s experience of effective retrofit and product innovation in heritage buildings and conservation areas, the network connects land and property-owning organisations, including RSPB, RNLI and the Youth Hostel Association. The aim is for organisations to learn from each other and avoid reinventing the wheel – freeing up vital resources and helping them to spend more time, energy and money on meeting their charitable objectives.
The Network will share best practice and experience through networking events, site visits and regular updates. As the Network Co-ordinator, I would also like to get to know your organisation and understand what your current needs, wants and haves are with regards to saving energy and cutting carbon. This is so that I can better match you up with other members in the Network who may already have the experience and skills to share with you.
I understand that it is harder for you to attend events or meetings, given the geographical distance! But in a world of Skype, WebEx and Dropbox, I believe there are ways we can still create partnerships and share best practice on a global scale and it would be great if some of you would like to join.
INTO have just become members of the Fit for the Future Network, however if you are particularly interested in retrofitting heritage buildings and energy generation projects then please do contact me directly and you can become more engaged with the Network on an individual level.
For more information about Fit for the Future, read our blog or have a look at the attached pdf:Join the Fit4Future Network
I look forward to working with some of you.
Best wishes,
Chloe
