This holiday will now take place in 2021

The Baroque Church of the Virgin Mary is situated in the lovely resort town of Teplice nad Metuji, surrounded by rolling forested country close to the Polish border. The historic hermitage, which is attached to the church, is a unique survival and is currently being painstakingly restored by a small local group of volunteers. Following restoration of the roof, last year we helped to rebuild the hermitage walls and we will be continuing this work in 2020. During the week we will have an excursion to places of interest in the neighbourhood, which is also renowned for its spectacular geological formations. No prior skills are required, although participants will need to have a good level of fitness. Age 20+.

Meeting point: Participants will be met by minibus at Prague airport off the flight from London Stansted arriving at 15.55 on the first day of the holiday.

Accommodation: Bed & Breakfast in a local pension in shared twin-bedded ensuite rooms. A limited number of single rooms are available. There is a choice of venues for other meals and a nearby shop for supplies.

Dates: This holiday will now take place in 2021

    Price: c.£250

This working holiday is run by The Friends of Czech Heritage, a UK-based charity set up twelve years ago to raise awareness of historic buildings, artefacts, gardens and parks in the Czech Republic.
