It will be a Whale of a time

An estimated 10,000 humpback whales swim past Bermuda each spring, as they head south for the summer. They are known as “acrobats of the sea” for their breaching, sometimes leaping 50 feet out of the sea and slapping the water with their giant fins.

These magnificent mammals are around 50 feet long and can weigh more than 30 tons, making them approximately the size of a bus. Male humpback whales sing to attract mates, and their melodic songs can be heard up to 20 miles away under the water.

Being in Bermuda in March is the time for whale watching aboard one of the many vessels offering these special trips. More information will be provided in advance of the conference for delegates wishing to extend they stay, pre or post the conference.
