Docent Josef Stulc, former General Director of the Czech State Heritage Institute and President of Czech ICOMOS will introduce the exhibition. Count Dr Leopold Podstatzky-Lichtenstein, a prominent member of one such family will talk about the perils and joys of post communist restitution.
Guests of honour and co-chairs of the event Ben Cowell, Director General of Historic Houses of Britain will lead a debate on the role of the state in the upkeep of private heritage properties and our Secretary-General, Catherine Leonard will provide an international dimension from INTO’s perspective. Dr Irena Edwards, Chairman of the Czech National Trust will give a short annual update.
The Czech National Trust is also opening a fabulous exhibition showing the history of the UNESCO town of Telc as seen through the lives of the most influential aristocratic families of the region.
