This holiday is run by the National Trust of Slovakia which was established in 1996 by a small group of enthusiastic people as a non-governmental, non-profit organisation. Its mission is to support the permanent protection and sensible use of the historic environment, heritage sites, objects of great value and places of natural beauty. Knowledge of the local language is not necessary for this holiday.

Live and work in a Slovakian Castle
The holiday: Liptovský Hrádok Castle in Northern Slovakia is one of the region’s most beautiful heritage sites and dates back to the 14th century. It has been lovingly restored recently and much of it is now home to a Four Star hotel. The main focus of this working holiday will be on completing simple gardening tasks and everyday maintenance activities in the castle. You will also learn about the castle’s history and occasionally work as a Tour Guide for overseas visitors. The site is compact and there is plenty of opportunity to become familiar with its history and surroundings. Your leisure time could be spent hiking in the mountains or visiting some of the nearby historic towns. We can offer this holiday to couples or two friends booking together.
Meeting point: Participants will be met at Liptovský Mikuláš train station and transferred by car.
Accommodation: Twin room in the Four Star hotel on site. Bedding and linen are provided.
